Darul Kheir (DK) is a registered Non-Governmental Organization founded in 2016 with a simple but powerful purpose: to serve humanity and contribute to the well-being of vulnerable individuals, families and communities living in Mukuru informal settlement, Nairobi - Kenya.
The name Darul Kheir comes from two Arabic words: Darul, meaning “home,” and Kheir, meaning “good” or “goodness.” Together, Darul Kheir can be understood as “The Home of Good Fortune” a name that reflects our vision of creating a place where compassion, dignity, opportunity and hope can reach those who need them most.
Our Apply for Support Funds page makes it easier for members of the community to request assistance without having to call or visit our offices first.
If you or someone you know is facing a genuine financial challenge and needs support, you can submit an application online and tell us about your situation.
Darul Kheir is inspired by the profound teachings and values of Islam, particularly the call to serve humanity, care for those in need and contribute to the social, economic and spiritual well-being of society. Our work is rooted in values such as compassion, generosity, dignity, responsibility and service to others. We believe that helping another person, protecting their dignity and creating opportunities for a better life are powerful forms of service. While our values are deeply rooted in Islam, our service transcends religious, social and cultural boundaries. Our programs are designed to support people based on their needs and circumstances, regardless of their background.

To empower communities by delivering comprehensive programs in education, health, and economic development.

To foster a harmonious, inclusive community where everyone can access opportunities for a better quality of life and sustainable development.
